Get involved and make a difference in your world! Listed below are various community service events in which you can participate to help improve your environment and links to which you can refer for more information.   • Nature Walks — Docent-led interpretative nature walks provide interesting and educational information about the natural, cultural, and archeological history of Nicholas Canyon and surrounding areas. Hikes are easy to moderate. Bring water, sunscreen, hat, and comfortable hiking shoes.

    The dates for the 2005 nature walks are generally the 3rd Sunday of the month: September 18, October 16, November 20, and December 18. All nature hikes begin promptly at 9 a.m. from Sycamore Lodge. No charge. Advance reservations are required.

  • Community Lecture Series — Living in Balance with Nature is a free series of lecture-workshops offered to provide practical information to assist members of the community to live more balanced lives. The series focuses on the whole person with a broad spectrum of topics, each presented to assist participants in aligning visions and goals with actions and results.

  • Special Events — Art Shows, Native Flute concerts, Community lecture series, Summer/Winter Solstice events (weather permitting).
